  1. I would suggest just not wearing them in the pool, the chlorine really messes with your eyes. I have month long contacts and i just went in the pool yesterday with them and now i have a little bump on the inside of my eyelid and it hurts somewhat, plus my eyes burned all day today so its not really worth it just wear glasses or nothing at all if your eyes aren't that bad. And i didn't open them under water either!

  2. i leave them and don't open my eyes while underwater of course i have dailies so i don't have to worry about losing them or infection :) YAY!

  3. I take them out.  I listen to my doctors, you know those people that go through years and years of school and are experts.  I, unlike other people in this post, don't particularly like having my lenses soak up all the chemicals and pathogens in the water (which will distort and damage the lenses even if you can't tell) and then hold them against my eye, increasing my risk for serious infections and irritations.  I would suggest you take them out, too.  :)

  4. if you're wearing them dont open your eyes under water.  i go into the ocean all the time with them in, but don't open my eyes under water.  otherwise wear goggles!  or just dont wear them

  5. It will not hurt them, but there are tiny little bugs in water that will get under your contacts and very very slowly eat at your eye and ruin your vision.   My doctor told me that... I would take them out.

  6. your suppost o take them out and put them in later but you could wear gogles but your not suppost to

  7. I use the daily disposable soft kind, so I've always been like a normal person when in and out of water. In the pool I normally wear goggles anyway (and when I don't I usually don't open my eyes underwater, but who does?), and as for the ocean, I go in the ocean with them but try not to open my eyes and let salt in them. I've never had a problem with my contacts in the ocean on in the pool, and I live in israel. In case you don't know, the oceans here are great, so I get in them about 3 times a week in summer time :)

  8. I dont wear them. If there is a chance of water getting in them (even a drop) it could ruin the perscription.

  9. i have had contacts for 4 years and a pool. i always swim with them in but its hard to open your eyes under water,  trust me i've lost many that way lol. so i strongly suggest wearing goggles especially if your in the ocean because its alot easier

  10. I wear my contacts in the ocean and the pool I just don't open my eyes underwater. If I am going to open my eyes underwater I wear goggles simple as that.

  11. I wear mine all the time everywhere, I get in pools, the ocean, shower, it's like I don't even have contacts, and of my friends and family don't even know I wear them cause I seldom have any problems

  12. I've been wearing soft contacts for about 13 years now.  I wear my contacts in the pool and the ocean, but I don't open my eyes.

The only time I've done that is when I went scuba diving back in 2001.  I went down to 130 feet with them on and no problem, whatsoever.  They were absolutely comfortable.  I was glad I tried them....so I didn't have to worry about my glasses getting wet or foggy and obstructing my view inside my mask.

I did have to take my mask off underwater once, to test what would happen if it was disloged by accident.  I was able to keep my eyes closed, put my mask back on and empty the water out before I opened my eyes again.  It worked beautifully.

If I ever go scuba diving again, I'll be doing the same thing.  If I ever get water in my eyes while I'm wearing them, I'll definitely remove them and disinfect them or even toss them away.  There is too much risk of an eye infection, otherwise.

  13. i don't use
