To fast food employees! How many of you have ever done something similar for the following?

The other day I was working front drive, and a lady complained that the hashbrowns I gave her were "at LEAST 10 minutes old". Even though i had just pulled them up from the vat, put 3 in her bag and handed it out. They were barley 10 seconds old. So I apologised, told her I put fresh ones down, pulled her ahead to wait for 4 minutes, then gave her "new", e.g. older hashbrowns from the batch i gave to her before. Surprisingly she did not come back to complain about these ones. SO what do you guys think? Have you done something similar? Or just disagree with what I did? Let me know! thanks!

  1. i work with old people. in dinning im a server for them,. and my point is some people will complain no matter how nice, fresh and good the food is. they will never be happy. they just always say something. all we can do is apoligise and offer something else. so giving her another one will make her think its new. looks always sell the food. maybe it didnt look nice so she thought it was old. so you did the right thing.....or it could of been some people are just bitchy and they blame you for no reason.

  2. Sorta.  I worked at Taco Bell and sometimes if the Chalupa (deep fried pita's) shell's were cold, i would pop them in the steamer to warm them up.

  3. i have done that exact same thing many many times, or i would say i gave new hasbrowns when they were the same ones!  haha its what people get for being so rude

  4. yes i have. and i really get annoyed by people like that but you did the right thing although i wouldnt do that. i would certainly tell that woman a piece of my mind. but dont follow me,my friends say i'm am very fasty. now dont get this twisted i am only fasty when you mess with me
