To female teens- Do you call boys first or wait till they call you no matter how much you want to?

I have a son that is 14 yrs old - when i was his age (and even now for that matter) I wasnt allowed to call a boy EVER and still follow that rule to this day. But I am wondering if that still applies or not - before I tell him about it and what type of girls did the calling in my day!! (1,000 years ago lol)

Im old fashioned and play hard to get at times so i personally would never call a guy.. but its actually pretty acceptable for girls to call guys and it doesnt say anything about the girl. now days you just have to meet them.

It's still not proper for the girl to make the first call.

Tell him if he ever wonders why that special certain one doesn't call, it's because he needs to do it first!  haha

I always waited until they called back when I was single, lest risk seeming desperate.

now that I've been dating my boy for 2 years, I call him obviously.. but that's because I know he's interested.

A guy will always call if he wants a date.

It still isn't proper for the girl to call the boy.  Etiquette will always be etiquette.  If he really wants to talk to her either he'll find a way to meet up with her or he'll call her.
