To fix a snowboard?

Just got my bran new board, first twenty yards off a lift i see this goon snowboarding across, so I stop to give him and opportunity to turn and go a different direction. He ends up dragging his rail across the top of my board. He took a half inch by half inch superficial layer off the top of my board. What do I need to do to fix my board? What will the water do to the rest of the board since the protective coating has been taken off? I snowboarded the rest of the day of course but like to get it fixed before I go to colorado.

  1. dude, thats an awesome story.  leave the board alone cause it has character now!  pretty boards are for pretty boys and pretty girls!

  2. O man that sucks, The same thing happen to a friend of mine, just last week, 1st day out with his brand new deck and this skier ran right in to him. Needless to say the skier got punched directly in the face. Funny stuff. BUT here is what you do, head right on over to your local shop that tunes snowboards and skis, tell them your delema and they will either price out filling in the gouges. OR they can tell you the stuff you need to fill it in.   I know its a pain right in the wass to fill it in yourself, id suggest having the shop do it, and next time you see someone comming at you like that frickin ollie right in to them. lol  i bet they wont ever run in to you or anyone else again

  3. I use two part marine epoxy. you can get in some different colors to fit your board. Fill in the scratch first then take some thing flat and wipe off the excess epoxy then if you would like you can clamp a piece of hard plastic over it. or take it to your local board shop.

    hope this helps
