To gamble or not to gamble?

Question

I am 18 I turned 18 on december 21st and since I was younger, I made a vow to myself to never become a gamble addict like the rest of my family.... wel, my grandma, aunt, and great aunt are all going to a casino tomorrow and they're begging me to go with them and even though I have no desire to go, I am getting tired of them asking me to go with them every 20 minutes or so....

what should I do? go just to get them off my back and tell them afterwards I didn't like it so they won't bug me about it again or should I just stand my ground?

just skip it. it is quite addictive, as you have seen first hand in family members.

they have each other to go with, so just tell them you'll go to dinner or something with them, afterwards. if they have any money left, that is :)

I don't see gambling as a bad thing as long as you know how to do it. Id say never spend what you can't afford to loose. Whenever you go out to a casino take with you I dunno a 100 bucks and only that, that way you realize what your spending. If you practice alot of poker and get good you could really try and rake in the money.

If they want you to go then the best thing to do is tell them they have to give you the money to do it and after they lose the extra they may think twice.  If they don't want to bankroll you then this will shut them up :) If you win though you pay them back and keep the profit so it's a no lose situation ;)

Did you say "NO!"  What part of NO don't they understand, the N or the O.  You should hold to your convictions.  You can get screwed, but it is hard to get unscrewed.
