  1. You can major in anything you want. Getting a job that supports green living is about making it happen. And, it can happen in *any* field. Indeed, it *must* happen in all fields.

Almost any job can support green living. It is more important to find the right employer and to foster green initiatives wherever you are. That is, make it happen, even if just a little. Lead rather than follow.

We may not be able to save all the starfish stranded on the beach; but we can save many of them one at a time. Don't let the big picture keep you from making the small changes that will make a difference. Even those small changes add up. Don't wait until you have the *perfect* answer. There isn't one.

That said, no matter what you major in, make sure you get a few basic business courses. They will provide the foundations you need to be able to put forward cases to your employers in terms that are most likely to be heard and acted upon.

ABOUT ME: I started and run a company that recycles old electronic products. The biggest things that have helped me are knowing I'm doing the right thing, and having my husband on the bandwagon with me. At the end of the day, I'm tired and sore; but no other job I've held has given me the same sense that I'm making a difference...one piece of electronic junk at a time.

  2. Ecology.

  3. You don't need to go to college for that, just go into the T Shirt and bumper sticker business.
