To get an MBA do you need to have an undergraduate degree in business?

I am currently majoring in sociology and will have a degree soon but want to pursue a business career. Can I go from a BS in sociology to an MBA?

  2. Absolutely not -- in fact, I have a number of friends with MBAs and I don't know of any with an undergraduate business degree.  Major in whatever you'd like at the undergraduate level; you can enter an MBA program with a degree in music, education, math, sociology, anything --

    Just make sure that your ujndergraduate curriculum includes basic courses in finance and accounting and statistics.

  3. no, you can get an MBA with almost any undergrad degree.

  4. You can basically get a BS/BA in anything and decide upon a totally different Master's subject. It just helps to have something from the same field because you build knowledge as you go, but I'd say Sociology and Business would actually fit well together!

  5. You DO NOT need to have an undergraduate degree in Business, you can pursue your MBA studies with almost any undergraduate degree, and many education establishment will welcome you to do that.
