  1. In most states you must reside there for six months prior to enrolling.  If your parent who lives in that state is claiming you on income tax as a dependant that might do it even if you haven't been living in that home full time.  Contact the college you want to attend and ask.

  2. no you dont. as long as you qualify for it, you just have to be a resident.. etc.. and be enrolled into a state college

  3. Texas requires one full year before having in district tuition.

  4. It depends.

Most states require you to live in a state for 6 to 12 months. You might want to check what the state requires are to be becoming a resident.

Now if you're parents are living there you can say that you've lived there for the necessary time to become a resident but be careful lying can get you into trouble.

Also, if you're in the military or you have just have a military identification card you can receive the resident tuition rate. I know because I got the resident rate when I moved to California in 2004 when I had only been living there for 2 months.

    I hope that helps.

    *Cheers*

  5. Well there can be serious penalties about lying about your address and they usually require some proof that you are in state. Tax returns, school records whatever. Most school require you live in a state for 6 months to a year before getting in state tuition.
