To get xbox live for the original xbox can you just buy a wireless router with Ethernet ports and connect it?

I want to have xbox live for the original xbox but I'm having some problems on how to setup everything up. Can you buy a wireless router with Ethernet ports and connect the Ethernet cable to the back of the xbox and have xbox live? Also do you need a special signal to get a xbox live connection? And what wireless router signal strength should I get G or G or N or N1?

I'm not sure if i understand your question but i'll do my best to answer.  first of all, you have to subscribe to xbox live.  it's $49.99 a year.  you also need a high speed internet connection.  you get that with your phone or cable company.  once that is set up you can connect your router to the modem and then connect your router to your xbox.  as for the wireless router, i have a wireless G router that works fine.  I have yet to try N.
