To girls and women- do you like it or not like it when guys yell or whistle at you in public?

I personally find this very immature and stupid. I don't take it as a compliment at all, they are just being so disrespectful. I can't believe they would honestly think we are happy to hear their gestures! I'm only fifteen years old, and I have thick blonde hair that I usually wear down, but it's not my fault! Lately I've been wearing it up when I'm alone in public. Sometimes I will just be walking my dog and some construction workers or guys driving by in a lawn crew truck will just whistle or honk their horns at me. The first time this happened I was really scared, but then it kept happening again and I just try to ignore it. Does anyone agree with me?

  1. It's flattering really and all those who say it's not are lying. Now if its creepy or they follow you or continue to escalate the situation that's scary. Otherwise, it's a friendly compliment. Hope they're all single i'd hate that to be my man.

  2. I have observed that although women get scared and annoyed when this happens; they become MORE bothered when they DON'T get the attention that they have become used to.

  3. I think they are morons.I wear my hair up too to get rid of attention because when I wear it down I hear hubba hubba and all that stuff. Its offensive and makes you feel uncomfortable.

  4. It's definitly stupid. It's annoying and sometimes I even freak out thinking they'd jump over me or something. Guys should really grow up.

  5. I take it as quite the insult. I don't see why it's completely necessary to make it public that you think I'm attractive. I think it's rude. They are just thinking with their d.i.c.k.s and not their brains-- that it may hurt some people. I just flip them off or ignore them.

  6. I'm 13 and thats happens to me all the time

    I think its realie annoying!!!!!!!

  7. hahaha ahh construction sites, so typical!

Yeah agreed, i really dislike it.. i mean what do they expect you to do? stop what your doing, go up to them and tell them that they're the man of your dreams?

    Pfft

And they're usually middle aged guys who probably have like 50 billlion kids at home.. blergh!

  8. Yes, I agree. And I'll go you one better: I think it's really f_cking rude. Driving by at 50 miles an hour, what can they really see, other than you have long hair and b***s? So what's the compliment? They noticed you're a chick? Yay, thanks. And they can't really see that well, obviously, because my husband has long hair and he says guys honk at him, too. Dumb a.s.s.es. Wonder what they think when he turns around and they see his goatee?

I used to yell, "F_CK YOU!!" as loud as I could when I was younger but now that I have kids walking with me I don't do that. I still want to though. I mostly give them dirty looks. You gotta watch, though; sometimes they pull over. Make sure you don't walk the dog too near the road or at night by yourself.

  9. I do that to all the hot girls lol

  10. I'd feel flattered if the guy is hot but it'd still give me the impression that he   is a male s***k, ha ha I can't think of any other words... If it's middle-aged men, then it's definitely disturbing.

Don't you fret too much, it happens to everyone. Look on the bright side, at least it elevates your self-esteem. Ha ha. BTW, I'm fifteen too!
