is there an age limit are those buses safe to take?

There are four buses.

Bolt Bus or Mega Bus is much better service, but to get cheap price, you must reserve in advance.

Vamoose Bus also has stop at DC, but it's stops in DC is temporality closed, so Vamoose Bus leaves from Rosyln Station in Arlington, Virginia and Bethesda Station in Maryland.

Chinatown bus is cheap, but not very good bus. Fang Wuh or Lucky Star was involve in accident, etc.

yah there are really safe but just bring spray because its smells bad

there are alot of bad people in that city

and hide your money in your sock

Yeah they are pretty safe.  Just go during daylight, not at night.  

Amtrak is good too, although a little more expensive.

You'll be fine as long as you know where you are going and don't appear to be lost. I would recommend either Megabus or Bolt bus both of which will get you there for as little as a dollar if booked in advance. Good Luck!
