I know this is a stupid question, and I know you obviously have to train alot, but how much? I kinda dream of going to the olympics 4 track and field but I get really intimidated... if someone could explain in depth of the sacrifices they make, and how much they train, I would deeply appreciate it. Thanks!

  1. i kno an olympian 100m - Asafa Powell - he trains 3 hours in the morning and an extra 2 hours in the afternoon

  2. ALOT they have to train everyday at least for 4 years.

  3. I think it depends on what kind of events you like to run. A sprinter might focus more on strength training and short bursts of running, whereas a distance runner would carry out a great deal of mileage each week. I just recently read an article on an Olympic marathon runner who runs between 120 and 140 miles a week, along with strength training sessions.

  4. This is a really interesting question. I want to be an Olympian marathon runner. Everyone else just covered the question, so I do not have anything left to answer.
