To have a contact lenses examination???

i want to go to walmart to have a contact lenses examination because i heard it is cheaper does any one know how much the price is does the price affect you if you have insurance ??? and if you dont???? and then after you have the examination they willl give you your prescription as to what contacts you need??? thanks

Well, I've never been to a walmart optometrist, but I'm assuming they are similar to other optometrists.  I don't know about the price.  You will get your eyes examined and the doctor or an optician can help you pick a type of contact lens appropriate for you.  If this is your first time getting contacts, you will need to be taught how to insert and remove them.  Often at private practices, they can give you a trial pair while you wait for your ordered contacts to get in.  They should be able to get you a prescription at the end of the exam.  Usually you can get a pretty good rebate if you order a six months or year supply.  The price of the contacts will depend on what type you get.  Whether or not the eye exam and contacts are covered by your insurance depends on what insurance you have.  If you don't have insurance, the price will affect you in that you'll have to pay for the exam and contacts.
