  1. UK should be enough. I have hired cars in Malta, Zakynthos and Northern Cyprus with nothing other than my UK licence.

  2. i belong to R A C in Australia which is for car break downs ect . when i travelled to the U K from Australia i went there and got an international drivers license i think it cost me $20 aussie dollars, you can drive any where in the world on it

  3. A full UK license should be fine as long as you've been driving for over a year.  Having your card license wıth you should be enough but if you want to be on the safe side you should take the card and the written part as well.

There are many car hire places in cyprus so i suggest shopping around a bit to get the best deal.

  4. Your UK License is fine.

The old paper licences are OK as well. As they don't have a photo you will need your passport as ID.

I use my paper licence there when I visit my holiday home in Ayia Napa.

  5. I rented a car from Stevens, they were really good and speak perfect English. They will be happy to answer any questions you have about car hire.

  6. No, your UK licence is sufficient.   I have recently hired a car in Cyprus and, if you are flying in to Paphos, I would thoroughly recommend "Elephant rent a car".   Absolutely no extras apart, of course, for petrol for which they charged me 29 euros.   I was met at the airport by a charming man and a week later I left the car at Paphos airport, for them to collect later.   No check to see if I'd caused damage, just trust.

The big bonus booking with them was that there was no need to divulge any credit card details.   I booked on line, received confirmation and paid CASH at the airport.   I know of no other company that will do this for on line bookings.

    Have a great holiday.

  7. full uk licence is fine as long as you are over 21. whatever you do dont hire via your holiday rep but hire yourself most of the hire companies are fine and a lot cheaper.

p.s. driving is easy but watch out on motorways or dual carriageways for speed traps.

  8. Only one where the third letter of it is a C

  9. Full UK licence is fine, so long as it has your photo (ie not one of the old fashioned green paper ones)

  10. Full UK license is enough, however some renters set minumum requirements like age above 25 or at least three year driving experience. Some companies rent small cars from age of 21 or even 18, but ask for an additonal charge based on the higher risk.
