I am trying to hook up my stereo system to my home theater system to play all my stereo thru the speakers of the theater systm for surround sound

  1. I don't quite understand, your surround receiver should have an AM/FM receiver and anything else such as a turn table or CD player (which you should be able to use your DVD player for) can be plugged into your inputs on the back of your surround, for instance input 1, 2, 3, DVD, phono, CD, etc. Pull out that instruction manual or look it up on the manufacturers web site.
