I want to get a roof rack from wilderness roof racks and i want to put 4 fog lights on it, is the only way of getting the wires into the dash to turn them on by drilling holes in the roll bar and pulling them through? is there any other way to not drill a hole into my car

  1. Well, you could use duct tape...

  2. For the wires, you can use nylon wire ties to tie them to the roll bar. Run them all the way down to the floor, then under your carpet, or, rubber floor mat, which ever you have, all the way to the front then come up behind the dash from there. The ties are available in many colors and lengths. Once you have the wires tight against the roll bar, just cut off the end of the tie wrap that sticks out. This will give you a cleaner installation.

A few things that you should keep in mind are-the lenses of fog lights are designed so that they spread the light over a low wide area. This means that they should be mounted low on the vehicle, usually 30" or less off the ground. Somewhere like on the front bumper. If you want to put some lights up high, you need to go with true off road lights, like KC Daylighters, or, maybe even better-PIAA's 540 series driving lights. They are designed for small trucks and SUV's, like your Tracker. They are 5 5/8 " diameter and only 2 1/2" deep. Either one of these lights will produce a brighter, longer and more focused beam than fog lights. That's what you need out in the woods. Either way, keep in mind that 4 lights of any kind will draw quite a bit of power (fog lights are usually used only in pairs). Be sure that your alternator can handle the additional demand. Consider using a higher amp alternator.

    Hope this helps you decide.
