Do you have to go through some kind of training on how to be the biggest, meanest, nastiest, most unpleasent, rudest person on the face of the earth ??

I work in insurance myself and have had to deal with one personaly (NAF accident) so I have had pretty many times where I have to deal with you,and you guys and gals are just nasty ! At least that has been my experience,EVERYTIME!

So whats up with that ? Is that a job requirement? Or is this just a natural ability you are hired in for having ?!!!

I know how it is dealing with insurance,I know the lies and and the deceit that goes along with the job,but guess what,I don't treat customers like you do. There are other ways people !!!!

  1. My mean, nasty, unpleasant, and rudeness training was only a half day course so it didn't sink in all the way.

But seriously....Have you ever thought maybe it's not the adjusters.?.?.?. MAYBE IT'S YOU!!!! I bet every adjuster hangs up the phone after talking with you and says, "Her customers must hate having to deal with her!!"

  2. In my experience, claims adjusters sour very quickly.  They only EVER deal with unhappy people, at least half the claims are fraudulent (exaggerated, at least), people lie to them hourly, and are very abusive, in general, to the claims adjusters.

They have the highest burnout rate in the insurance industry.

Personally, you couldn't pay me enough to do claims.

Take the sweetest, nicest person in the entire world, and within a month, you've created a major cynic that won't believe a word out of your mouth.  I guess getting threatened all the time has something to do with it . .

  3. I think this really depends entirely on the company and people that are in these roles.  I work with Nationwide Insurance and every claim adjuster that I have met is very personable and pleasant.  As a matter of fact, once I got to know several of the adjusters I decided that I should switch to Nationwide myself.

Everyone's individual experiences are going to vary and even a nice person sometimes has bad days.

  4. I'm with MSAD at 110%. I've been an adjuster for 20+ years and have always treated people respectfully, even the ones with attitudes like yours.

  5. The ignorant attitude of your question speaks for itself.

  6. this question raises other issues in other fileds of abnauctious Agents like what you mentioned, and car sales people to name a few. lets think with a psychological reason first..due to the nature of these jobs it causes the person to develop certain characteristic behavioral patterns after a certain peroid of time. most of these kind of people do not have what we call "strength of character". I guess not all of them behave in this certain aggressive manner. maybe most of them as in your experience, but there are a few isolated incidents that some persons can still think and act with good reason and politeness.

But i feel it is the employers whom to blame. the laws of insurance that govern the buisness nature..maybe that is were the problem lies..we need to get to the very core of the cause that leads to the result of this kind of behavior.  it is the head and owners and politicians to make what we so called "user rfriendly" environment so that clients such as you and myself can have a better experience when doing buisness with them. change the way things are done in the system. we need to look at it as a whole not just thru the individual.
