  1. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is when Scout (I think it was her) wanted to build/was trying to build a snowman made out of dirt, and Jem (I think) said, "There ain't no knee-grow snowman!"  (It censored the correct spelling of knee-grow.  And note that I don't use it as a racist term, and I don't think Harper Lee did, either.)

    It was humorous because of the innocence of the children.  With all the racism around them, they still treated race as if it were as trivial as someone's height, or favorite color.

    Ah, ignorance is bliss...


  2. It was pretty funny when Atticus asked Scout to refrain from fighting for her father's honor. She comments that since her father so rarely asked her to do anything, she felt extremely noble obeying. In the next sentence she says she remained noble for about two weeks.
