Question:

To mail a letter from the U.S to Canadado I have to buy the dedicated stamp or can I just put 2 regular ones?

On the envelope? Or can I just put 2 regular 37 cent stamps on it

  1. I know sending mail from Canada to the US we can use the regular ones or the dedicated ones. Why would the US do it differently. I guess that was YOUR question. Sorry.


  2. You can use US postage to mail to Canada.  You may want to go to www.usps.com and check out the rates for sending a letter to Canada just to ensure you put enough postage on.  I believe the last letter I sent needed $0.62.

  3. When I used to work in a mailroom, as long as you had the right amount of Postage on the envelope, it didn't matter whether the stamps were from the US or not. If the amount is a little over, so what.  It'll definitly get there for sure.

  4. The current rate to Canada is 72 cents for the first ounce.  Any kind of US postage stamps will work as long as they add up to at least 72 cents - so two 37 cent stamps would be fine.
