Would I need to buy a stamp for my regular sized letter (those white rectangular envelopes) if I were to send it from LA to NY?

Would it cost me something if i were to send the same envelope from Hawaii to Alaska because it's not the continental U.S?

  1. my cat is cute

  2. If I'm correct postage is the same wherever it goes.

  3. Do they let you out on the street alone?

  4. Yes, to both questions. The postage for a typical letter  is the same regardless of which state you mail it to or from--42 cents.

  5. My cat is cuter.  But, on to the question, of course you need to buy a stamp for your regular sized letter to go from LA to NY.  Huh?  You have to buy a stamp for your regular sized letter to go from your street in your town to a different street in your town, if you send it by mail, right?

  6. mail within the us is the same (the first class rate)- unless it weighs more.   it's somewhere around 40 cents now.

so the stamp you need to get from LA to NY

is the same as the stamp you need from

    Hawaii to Alaska

HOWEVER - the TIME it takes to get the letter from Hawaii to alaska may be longer.

so check with the post office about whether you should pay more to get it from Hawaii to Alaska in a particular amount of time.

  7. Yes one first class US stamp is valid for any American State or territory- regardless of the distance.

It cost the same to mail a letter to your next door neighbor as it would to mail a letter to Alaska from Florida!

  8. Save money and send it as a postcard $0.27
