  1. Try 7-Up

  2. Don't use salt.  Sugar will provide energy to the flowers. Another hint is to add a dash of bleach to the water, this will stop algae growth. Remember to change the water every few days. Also, cut the stem of the flowers on an angle with sharp scissors so the stem is not sitting flat on the vase, this will allow the flowers to drink properly from the water.

  3. Nothing. Just give clean water. I watched a show once and they did tests to see which flowers bloomed longer over five days and the clean water was the one that kept the flowers alive for much longer.

  4. I usually add like half a teaspoon of sugar to warmish water, just warm enough the avoid the harshness of the cold water but without being warm.

You can get sachet's from the florist which is basically just sugar.

  5. Just a small pinch of sugar, willl do!

  6. i dont think you would add salt as salt is known to dehydrate.

  7. Actually, Koko2008 is correct. I have used 7up or Sierra Mist as half of the water for cut flowers. They lasted the longest I have ever seen cut plants survive. I used a 50/50 water/soda mix and had wonderful bouquet that lasted 2 weeks.

  8. Just change the water every second day you don't need anything in it.

  9. Just a pinch of sugar.

  10. an asprin

  11. Gina is correct..aspirin is made from salicylic acid which is a compound found strongly in willow trees..Willow trees have a natural root harmone to aid in plant growth and healing cuttings from plants..In the old days as far as way back in the romans and greek empires they chewed straight willow bark for headaches..and this is what aspirin is made from..salicylic acid is also a root harmone.here is a article on "willow water"..
