Hi, I recently purchased a new 10 gallon tank, and with it I bought 2 male guppies,4 female guppies,2 danios, and a pleco ( which i am getting rid of!) And it turns out that all four of the female guppies i bought were pregnant! ahhh!!! I know all about taking care of the fry but what will i do with all of them?? Can i sell them to petsmart, pet cetera, or anyother fish/pet store?? thanks so much!

  1. You would need to grow your guppies for a couple of months before any store would be willing to take them from you. and then if they are small they would use them as feeder fish unless they were really fancy. The way to help keep the population down is to not separate the babies from the other fish. This will provide the other fish with some good live foods. If you wish to raise some or most of the babies then you will need to separate them into a much larger tank for grow out until they are large enough to sell or give away.

  2. You are overstocked. Get rid of the female guppys, they will have millions of babys and you will be surprised.Once you get rid of the females get 1 more male and you will be fine. If you want fry get another tank and put 1 male in there they will get pregnant. Then you could give them to a petshop that is family owned. Nobody will buy your fry. Petsmart wont even take them for free.

  3. just sell them

danios need to school in groups of 6+

  4. leave any babies in the tank they will get eaten but you need to get rid of all of them except the guppies
