I am wondering when your period came back. Currently, I am still breastfeeding my 10 month old baby and I have PCOS.

I plan to let the baby wean when she chooses to but I was wondering if I have to completely stop breastfeeding so that my period will return.

We want to try for a second and it took us over a year for the first so I want to know what to expect time wise.

  1. Mine came back around the time I started to introduce solid foods (about 6-7 months), I obviously wasn't breastfeeding as much to keep it at bay. I also found that once I stopped breastfeeding I was not hampered by infertility and ooops got pregnant without even trying. Depending on how PCOS affects your body and cycles it is very hard to tell.

  2. I was able to breastfeed, but never had a full supply so I had to suppliment. My periods came back at 7 months with both my babies, right around the time I started solids. You can try other methods to induce your period if you want to start ttc and continue breastfeeding. There are herbal remedies that can help you as well. good luck!

  3. with my first i didn't get my period for 7 months and the it came back because of the stress i was under when i found out that my son's father had cheated on me some women get it back normally so no you don't have to stop breastfeeding to get our period just cut down on it a little and ask your doc if he could give you some thing to help also
