why joker wants the reese dead, when reese wants to announce batmans identity? isnt that joker's intention?

He didn't want Reese dead, he was trying to manipulate people and show that man reverts to his extincts, i.e. saves himself.

He was just trying to cause chaos.

Not really, the joker's intentation was to see what the Batman would do, if he would actually sacrifice himself in order to save those the Joker said he would kill. He never wanted to "out" Bruce Wayne as Batman because he, in a way, needs that Batman. So, when Reese is going to reveal his identity he has him killed becasue if the Batman were to be revealed he could no longer play (for lack of a better word) with him.
