  1. wow what has the world come to?

  2. I think it's a good idea.  If we can protect our dogs by doing that, why not our children?

  3. No I don't believe it to be a good idea.  Dogs don't understand as well as humans.  When I tell my child to be somewhere at a certain time, I expect them to listen.  If they don't, consequences are in order.  I think implanting a tracking chip could quickly be used for the wrong reasons and is overly controlling.   I think to prevent children from going missing that we should be responsible parents and know where they are and who they are with at all times.

Let's stick to tracking chips for animals only, shall we?  :)

  4. i wont even allow my daughters ears to get peirced much less put in a metal device that could cause cancer, lol.

    thios seems abserd

  5. i think it is highly unnecessary. we've made it this far without having to do it and if we do the creeps that do take kids are going to start taking more rash action when they do take children.

  6. I think so... I know when they are teenagers I would love to know where they are.  I'm sure that seems rather controlling and 'big brother' ish but given the many ills of the world nowadays, I 'd rather fight the 'right to privacy' fight instead of mourning their loss.

  7. That's a little too sci-fi for me.

  8. Placing a tracking chip in a child is not going to guarantee they won't go missing.  Nothing and no one can ever guarantee that for any child. The chips will make it easier to locate where they are if they do go missing however and therefore make it faster and easier to find them. The chip is available in some areas now and has to be inserted by a doctor.

  9. It won't prevent anything bad from happening to them though.  This is for pets more than for humans.  If a pet wanders away, he wanders away and eventually you find him somewhere outside sniffing the dog down the street.  If a child goes missing, most times it's because they were kidnapped and something violent will be done to them.  A tracking device isn't going to keep them safe from harm.  It will just make it easier to locate the body.

  10. Wow...the end is near.

  11. No I do not. For one it is not like we would be the only ones using  the tracking devices. I am not anti government but come on you don't think the people/company that made them would track and monitor what we do. And the people that took your child would simply remove it, another torture to your child.

We protect our kids by educating them against what to do if things like this happen and keeping them in safe environments as much as we can. Not implanting them with a tracking device. Would you want one implanted in you? Though they are ours they have rights as well, and I believe implanting a tracking device in a human is a violation of human rights.

  12. Absolutely not! I believe that as parents we need to actullay WATCH our children, pay attention to them, protect them, and TEACH them responsibility. If your child is too young to know not to wonder away from mommy and daddy then mommy and daddy better not let them out of their sight. Children should be taught about strangers and how to react/act if they are taken or lost. Tracking chips are great for pets, not for kids!

  13. No, not at all. Would you want a tracking chip implanted into you? Don't you think that the government would eventually abuse the system?

  14. I think it's a good idea. Both of my dogs are chipped, why not my kids? But then what happens in a few years when these children are adults? That's what scares people. Like it would be some type of government-tracking device....."Is So-and-So really at work? Let's log on to our computer and find out."

Kids would have to have it removed when they are 18, or something.

    Interesting question!
