I have a retired black and white greyhound and hes really great because he so loyal and never misbehaves so I'd like to know is there any where that greyhounds just love to be petted to reward them for being such great friends. Thanks and I don't mean just a pat on the head.

  1. Depends on your dog - he'll probably tell you.  Scratch his stomach, chest, stroke his ears, rub his temples.  As you do it, watch his eyes or follow his lead if he moves around.

Both my dog and my cats like to be rubbed all along the bottom of the skull - chin, jowls, back of head.  And then there's the beloved butt scratch!

  2. My Greyhounds love their ears scratched & their bellies rubbed.

Of course - their favorite things to do is run ZOOMIES at the dog Park & to go for Boat and Car Rides.

For special treats I make them "Liver Brownies".   Take 1 box of Jiffy Corn bread mix and mix it with 1# of Liver (blend the liver in a blender until smooth) - spread on a cookie sheet & bake until firm.   It's like crack for dogs!

That and bully bones .... put them in hound heaven!

And of course .... a good dog can never have too many pretty martingale collars to wear when out on the town!

  3. give him some meat

  4. Just love your dog like any other normal dog. A pat is fine. And all dogs love to me scratched close on top towards there behind as they always love that part as that is one part they can't reach and itch themselves. Just love your dog and be kind and  good to him. He knows if you treat him good or bad. And if your dog is good. He knows you are a loving owner. And maybe a good dog chew or dog bone would be nice too. Not all the time once in while for a treat. Good luck to you.

  5. find a toy that he is *really* into, but only give it to him when he has done right

  6. Yes find an open field and let him run and play with another dog, on his own terms!! he deserves it...the best part is watching him run, play and just being free and happy.
