Question:

To save battery on a camera, is it better to be turning it off (and on) a lot, or to just leave it on?

  1. well, i just shut mine on and off. im not sure whether or not it hurts the camera. i should stop, lol. depends, if your camera goes to sleep after a while, just keep it on, only if you're taking alot of shots.


  2. You don't really have to turn your camera on and off continuously...but, what you really should be doing to conserve battery power, is to turn the LCD screen off as much as you can (because it consumes most of your battery power).

    So, turn the LCD off in between shots and don't spend too much time looking at all the pretty pictures.

    The flash uses a lot of battery power too...

  3. Digital cameras have timer settings that let you set the duration time the camera stay on before shutting off.

  4. Mine will shut off aotomaticaly after three min. of no use.  The book says it is to save the battery.... I would think they know what they are talking about...
