To some Native Americans..?

Question

why do some of you judge other's when they mention that they are part Native American and they are mad about something, for example, illegal immigration? They know the history also behind what happened to the Natives, but they also still have family from both the Natives and the Europeans.

I understand why Europeans in America are upset.  But, although I don't desire to have America invaded by Americans from down south, I can see the irony it all.  How our ancestors thought it was their destiny to march right in and take everything.  We've enjoyed the fruits of their conquests.  Now we don't want to have others come in and take it from us.  Even though they're peoples who lived in this hemisphere thousands of years longer.  It's gonna happen.  Just like it's happened throughout the world untold times before.

I'm not Native American.  As far as judging others' histories.....

Its 2008 and I only judge people for the behaviors and choices they have made personally.

I have no interest and see no relevance to what dead people did.

I prefer to deal today's issues because we can do something about them. We can't change history or dig up the dead.

It is what it is, so we need to make the best of it.

If I understand you correctly--its because white people say it solely so for the purpose of acting like they have a right to attack others for coming here because someone in their past is Native American.  Its not a pride in their heritage thing; its a "I don't want to be attacked for my hypocrisy so I'll say this so its not hypocritical" situation.

Being descended of Native Americans does not make you one.  Genetically it makes you part one; but it does not mean you know what its like to be one.  

And it does not give you the right to attack others for doing what white people did.

Actually Joel W, I am of European Ancestry.  That would be of Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, and England.

I am Native American and of legal German immigrants and on here everyone is judged for their opinions, I do not like what had happened over 200 years ago, but there is nothing that anyone can do to change it, what we can do something about is now!!! And make sure the same thing does not happen again!! In past history you did not have the technology of today, you did not have masses of millions coming here. Now we have all types of people coming here and many are a danger to us all. I am definitely anti-illegal and I am willing to fight for what I believe in, and I believe in my country and do not want anyone bringing it down in any form, and illegals of all races are bringing this country down.
