With all those militant groups for defense and in particular with their cell structure, aren't they going to hard to control? I'm wondering if P.M. Haniyeh wouldn't be well advised to reorganize them as a single defense unit?

  1. They need a real army that's for sure and, yes, all that diversity of defense groups will make it difficult to control cooperation with the truce terms.

  2. for whatever reason, gaza is unable or unwilling to live up to the terms of the truce. big surprise. they get millions of dollars from international sources to support their security forces. if they wanted to abide by the truce, they would.

  3. I think they should  everything they can can get in the way of defense hardware and yes, they are obviously long overdue for a unified military command.

  4. A full and well-equipped military is obviously needed, given the sword they have hanging over their heads. They also need to regain control of their airspace and their territorial waters.

  5. Definitely; all it would take is one group to take matters into their hands; what could he do? I think it is long overdue. Another advantage to having an actual army is that the soldiers are less vulnerable to being slurred by the media as "terrorists".  Plus, they make for more effective defense in the event of an actual invasion, always a real possibility to any country unfortunate enough to have the chosen people as neighbors. So far there isn't a single neighboring state they haven't attacked and invaded. Gaza not only needs a serious army, they need an air force,a navy and an ABM system.
