  1. You could find a job without any specific qualification in one of the numerous private language schools: they are always looking for mother tongue teachers. I think they would prefer teachers with University Education, even if not a teaching degree. As for Public schools, no chance...they have stopped hiring and there are lists of people who passed the entry exam that are endless and would provide teachers until the end of the next millennium.

  2. I would think you would need at least a language degree in one of the two languages with a secondary in the other.

    Italians are smart.

  3. You probably do but it the end it depends on where you want to work. Some school may hire you without one, some schools may need one especially if this is your first time teaching. It couldn't hurt to have a teaching degree anyways.

  4. As an English teacher I can tell you what we look for in new teachers. A degree of any type and a TEFL or CELTA dipolma which teaches you how to teach a English as a second languge, If you are non-European we also require the 'permesso di soggiorno' which the Italian police Authorities give you on request. We normally help get you this permission, a Codice Fisciale (tax number) which we also help with. European passport holders need only the tax number. Email me if you need a job as I'm currently looking for teachers!!!!!!!! elaineke2002@yahoo.it
