How did you become a fan of the Bronx Bombers?

Was it because of the history? or something else.

Peace

  3. my daddy took me to my first yankee game vs boston when i was like 10 years old and ive been in love with the yankees and derek jeter ever since

  4. I was a Yankee fan before this, but what turned me into a die-hard fan was Paul O'Neill and his three-homer game in '95. Since then, I might have missed 20-30 games.

  5. Well i used to live in new jersey which is pretty close to nyc.

  6. My father nudged me into a love of baseball at an early age but he was a Met fan so he tried to make me one. I first started to notice the Yankees during the 2003 World Series where i finally got to see what I thought was the greatest team in the world. So at that moment my love the Bronx Bombers began.

  7. First baseball game I saw on TV as a kid.

  8. I'm from California, so its kinda rare to be a Yankee fan around here (thats not a bandwagoner)

I became a Yanks fan, when I was really young. When I was 2 or 3 I think, my mom let me and my brother each pick out 2 baseball pennants to decorate our room with. The first one I picked was the New York Yankees. I still have it hanging on my wall today (I'm almost 17) As I had gotten older, I just started learning more about baseball, and wanted to learn more about the Yankees. I have always been a big fan!!!

  9. I had no choice  ;being a Yankee fan was one of those percs that automatically came with my NYC birth  certificate.

  10. Theyre most likely bandwagon fans

  11. I went to my very first baseball game in 2005. It was a Pirates game. No, they weren't playing the Yankees in interleague.

For some reason, I fell in love with baseball. I'm not sure why I didn't fall in love with the Pirates-- the Yankees grabbed me first. No, it wasn't because of their winning history or money. When I first became a fan, I really didn't know about any of that. But from the moment I chose them (or rather, they chose me), I've done everything to educate myself and fall in love.

Now, the Yankees are my life.

  12. Proud Brooklyn native and the Yankees were the first pro sports team I saw. I didn't hate the Mets, but the Yankees just caught me from 4 years old (1979) and never let me go.

I'll never stop being a New York Yankees fan. (Unless they move out of New York City.)

  13. Meeting Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra as a youngster at a spring training game in Tampa, Florida.  It was a great experience.  Spent about a half hour with them along with my father and his best friend who was Johnny Vander Meer, (long time pitcher with the Reds), who is famous for pitching back to back no hitters.

I left that meeting more of a Mickey Mantle fan than a Yankee fan but the two went hand in hand.  Been a Yankee fan ever since.

  14. My first year in little league, 1970 at the age of 8 & our team name was the Yankees & I lived in Maryland at the time.  Everyone on team wanted to be a Yankee when we grew up & despite our coach's objection, my uncle, he gave in & he is a Orioles fan which I like too but he also was a fan of the old Washington Senators & he took me to RFK Stadium many times to watch them play.  We still go to watch Yankees & Orioles play when they come to Camden Yards

  15. they probably live in ny

  16. Their mothers dropped them on their heads when they were babies.
