  1. assuming your horse is fed a good amount of hay, i usually would start feeding about 3 # of 10 protein 10 fat grain.  plus, i would add 1 cup of black oil sunflower seeds.  and adjust from there.

    hope this helps.

  2. First off, if you have a horse you need to know how much to feed BEFORE you purchase. You need to know how much he weighs, if he's over weight or under weight, if he has any allergies, how much forage he is receiving, and if he's on any added supplements.

Every feed is going to weigh differently, so no one can accurately say, go feed half a coffee can in the morning and at night. You need to feed by weight, NOT volume. If your horse is on a forage first program, where he eats his 2% body weight plus more in alfalfa or grass hay, then he may require little to no feed.

You need to determine his weight. Then look on the back of your feed bag. There should be a chart that calculates for age, s*x, and work level just how much feed the horse getting according to it's weight.

  3. avarage you should feed 10 pounds in the morning and night but it depends on the hay if its rich in alfalfa cut back if its more like a grass hay you can fee a little more

  4. It all depends on what kind of feed he's getting. But I'd feed him about 5 cups (i can't think of the measurement in ounces at the moment) of Blue Seal Feed- The Hunter kind, once in the morning and once at night. If he seems to gain weight or loose some adjust his feed accordingly, but slowly.

I hope that I helped, good luck with your horse (:
