Question:

To those from Australia...?

Are people there really as tough and independent as we, in the states, perceive you? Over here, so many people want to blame someone else for their own d**n problems, want the government to bail them out of their stupidity and give them everything for nothing. Instead of just sucking it up, getting tough and moving on, they whine and get lazy.

Just curious.

  1. Yes we have some here, they are called Dole Bludgers. The rest of us just get on with it and know that in life 'Sh-t' happens, so you just wash yourself off and keep on going. But I think we are lucky here - our minimum wages are better and our health system is better (no insurance required)- and hardly any guns here - so maybe that is why you seem to find people complaining in the USA. Glad to be an Aussie!!!! No offence to the USA.

  2. Lol we're all people. You're always going to have some people like that, then your going to have people that are going to do stuff about it. There may be more of those types of people in Australia, it might be the fact that a lot of us grew up on farms (not so sure if thats true but a lot of people I know have) and maybe that has something to do with the whole getting tough and moving on thing...if that makes sense?

But I don't know enough about Americans to say anything drastic :D

  3. Yep, were all bloody tough mate!

    Tough Nuts, guts and butts.

    That's what its all about.

  4. yep, pretty much, we dont really like whining people, however we do have them, australians will generally just get up and do what we have to do, quietly and with little fanfare, we have our problems, the country is far from perfect, but it is a country that likes to give everyone a fair go
