  1. Yes, they have, and for the most part, for the better, though not necessarily always perceptibly.

  2. yeap to a certain extent as v need more n more ppl to take part in this organisations to make it more powerful.n of course v also need many sponsorships n money.

  3. The UN ... No.  For a good insight into the UN bureaucracy read Shake Hands With the Devil (The Failure of Humanity in Rwanda)  by Romeo Dallaire or watch Hotel Rwanda which is based on his experiences.  No serious effort from the UN was given to his proposals to stop it before it started and sadly, even after 800,000 Rwandans were killed.

The UN has no credibility when the Security Council's five permanent members includes China and Russia.

The Red Cross or its variations actually do good work and help people.  My experience with the UN is that they drive around in air conditioned vehicles, stay at the country's best hotels, don't go outside of secure areas where the people need the most help and are generally prima-donnas.  I never give to UNICEF anymore as most of the money never reaches the children.

  4. Unfortunately I agree with the third answerer. He forgot to mention first class flights too. Tons of red tape and politicking to high heavens.

When I moved to another International organization though, it was more rewarding although they were underfunded because you saw the camaraderie amongst each other.  I hoped I changed the world by way of the little things I've done to make some people's lives better by way of teaching, counseling and just simply by being there.

  5. For one person on its own its nearly impossible to change the world. However these organization has a very large number of adept who give all the can do to have a better world.  So with all these person giving their small contribution , their has been change in living standard their is changes taking place and their will be changes.  An interestig question would be:How would have been the world today without those Organizations.  Personally i give a special thank to those persons for trusting in a better future

  6. The U.N. is a joke!  They are as corrupt or more than the governments of third world countries.  All they do is line their pockets and pat each other on the back telling one another how good a job they are doing.  I would not care if it were disolved completely.  I hope to God it will happen
