i'm 38 weeks along, and my husband is going to to to his parents for 3 days. it is 3 1/2 hours away and traveling is hard for me, however if i do go in to labor while he is gone i don't have anyone here who can take me to the hospital (recently moved). i have high bp and really don't want to travel. gah! what is the less scarey option?

  1. oh my! i don't think you want to risk going into labor esp when you're on the road.  is it necessary for you to go his parents? why not wait until you give birth?  that way you can also bring their new grandchild.

  2. I wouldn't travel if I was you. In fact I expect that your doctor would tell you not to as well. Why does your husband have to go to his parents' house now? Unless there was a death in the family, or someone was seriously ill, I'd ask my husband to skip the trip this time.

  3. Why does he have to go to his parents house now? Have you tried to talk him out of it? This is really poor timing on his part. Anyway, I think your best bet is to go with him, unless you feel comfortable driving yourself to the hospital (which I'm guessing you're not).

  4. Tell him not to go would be my first option.  Sheesh.  Are men that stupid?

  5. to travel!!

or just do something fun in the meantime

  6. well he would probley be ok to go if you go and go into labor you will have to deliver at anther hospital but if you dont go with him you can go to the hosp by ambulance and he should be able to make it back on time
