last year I tryed out for volleyball but didnot make because I could not keep up with everyone on the team. I then started to tell my parents that I could barely breathly breath and didnt want to push myself to hard because I was afraid I was going to pass out or something like that. So I went to the doctor and I found out I have asthma but its an acute case that really only shows up when I exercise. Now it about time to get tryout info for volleyball and I am not sure if i should tryout or not. I know I'm as good as everyone says I am . And I do play travel v-ball so its not like I am out of practice for it!! Help!!

  1. Go to your doctor and make sure its cool with them. If so request for an inhaler and go play. Like you said you do club so you aren't out of shape or anything. You should be fine :]

  2. you should try out and see if you make it and if you do and you need a break tell your couch"dude couch i cant breathe let me sit out please" and take a breather but go for it :) dont give up

  3. Get yourself an inhaler from your doctor and go tryout.  Quit asking about it and do it already.  Quit making excuses.  Millions of people have asthma and play sports all the time.

  4. I have the same condition, and it doesn't even bother me in volleyball unless the gym is really humid. The only time my asthma bothered me was when I used to play soccer...or in conditioning for volleyball. You won't pass out, and an athsma attack won't kill you if is only acute athsma. I don't even think of it when I play, because its not really a big deal. I think that would be stupid to throw away your talent just because of a small case of athsma.

I definetly agree with DF. Thats just an excuse to not try.

  5. Go for it, volleyball isnt that much running and if the only reason that you didnt make it was becuase you were holding yourself back, I say you should go and try your hardest. I play and I am fine
