i would. there is this thing called phantom power which is being used even though u r not using ur ps3, so u r wasting a bit of electricity

First, I turn off my PS3 with a front power button (or with my controller), then I flip the switch on the back. Not only you don't waste electricity, you also protect your PS3 from sudden power jump-ups and thunderstorms. I do it all the time.

No, it will go into a low power state so there's no need to switch it off at the power switch. I keep mine on standby always.

Its a choice, but i think jsut switichin off on the ps3 is fine.

and mine works fine so it prolly does not heat up.

Flip the switch on the back of your PS3 and the power outlet on the wall. If you leave your PS3 on standby (red light), you're just wasting energy for nothing. It won't affect your PS3 in anyway way if you keep turning it off by the flip switch and then the power outlet on the wall.

it doesnt make a differnece i flip it just becvuase the light bothers me when im sleeping lol but the same on my wii so i pull the cords out but you dont have to its already OFF its just easier to turn back on without the switch flipped so you can just grab your controller and hit the ps button lol
