To use or not to use a DS screen protector?

So, I´m a bit unsecure about using a screen protector for the stylus screen on my DS Lite.

I´m playing a game where the combat takes place just with the stylus and I´m a bit worried that the screen maybe scratched or damaged, but I also read that some gamers don´t use screen protectors at all, since it damaged the sensitivity for the stylus screen.

What do you advise me to do?

You must use the screen protector. Just ensure that it is meant for touch screens.(Should be written on the packing of the screen protector)
