Question:

To watch the game tonight or not?

So, my husband is taking this super important test for school tonight (he's a helicopter pilot in training has to take a check ride for his instrament rating) He had planned it Saturday but there was a helicopter crash at his school and he had to take it today, if he could have gotten around it he would...

So crazy die hard redwings fans here and he is asking me to NOT watch the game and record it and watch it with him later this evening...

Do I risk divorce and watch it with out him and not have anyone to hug and cry if the redwings hoist the cup or wait and watch it later and risk accidentally finding out my wings won the cup with out actually seeing the game...???

  1. Stay away from the media and watch it with him.

One of the best parts of hockey is the emotion involved and you'll definitely want to share this moment with your loved one.

  2. I'm with Beer Slayer. Perfect...romoantic even!

More concerning, was the pilot OK?

  3. Watching a game on tape is never the same, even if you're watching it with someone you love. Conversely, watching a game twice is not a hardship for a fan.

And unless your closest neighbors are miles away (or you live outside of Michigan), you'll hear people celebrating if the team clinches tonight - and your hubby may well see people celebrating on the streets on his way home. Even if you manage to avoid the media, you probably won't be able to avoid knowing the outcome.

  4. I think your hubby is being a little selfish.  My hubby won't be home to watch the game with me either and he knows what a DIE HARD fan I am and he would NEVER ask me to do that.

I say you should watch it.  You can always watch it with him when he gets home.  And do you actually think he won't hear anything about the game while he is gone?

My vote for you is to watch it.

  5. Turn off all sorts of media..TV...radio..internet. Take the phone off the hook. Tell hubby not to listen to anybody (excepting his instructor). Tell him not to listen to the radio on the way home. Meet him at the door with a cold six pack, wearing something skimpy on and enjoy the game together.

  6. Well as many in the Hocket section know i'm a Red Wings fan from the UK so there is like a +5 hour time difference but I am going to try and stay up at watch it and i've got a school exam tomorrow morning as well. So if I am willing to stay up an extra 5 hours just for the game with an exam tomorrow then surely you should watch the game as well.

  7. Sorry, but if I were you, I would watch the game.  As a die-hard hockey fan (especially Wings), there is no way that I'm not going to watch that game.  If you miss them winning the cup live, you'll regret it.

  8. Record it. Throw on a movie and wait. It will be better to celebrate the cup with someone. Good Luck!

  9. TURN OF ALL MEDIA......I was in a similar situation during game 1 minus the fact that I could care less about either team, I'm just happy the 2 who should have made it did. Oh yeah and I was at Larry the Cable guy in Atlantic City. Soooo maybe it's not the same but never-the-less, enjoy it at your time with your hubby so that you have the same excitement together you would if it was live.
