Question:

To what do I attach the tow rope to on a boat to tow a tube?

It has an out board motor so I'm concerned about the rope getting tangled in the prop.

  1. That could easily happen if you back over it or make a sharp Uturn to pick up a fallen skier or tuber.

    Just fasten it to a "cleat" on the transom and be careful.

    Even ski boats with a center-pull bollard or tower hook can get the rope tangled in the prop.

    Same with I/O motors.  Least likely to happen on a true inboard.


  2. There should be a "Y" in the end of the rope with carabineer hooks on each end. This is a proper tube towing rope. These hooks will go to the "O" hooks mounted on either side of the motor, right on the back panel of the boat.
