To what extent, if any, should the federal government provide for the economic well-being of poor Americans?

Who, if anyone, should receive public funds? & What kinds of means testing, if any, should be conducted?

im having a large debate about this and was wondering what americans views are on this...thanks for your response...

  1. Too bad.  Has it occurred to you to question how much is sent to those who are not in poor circumstances.  

    If this be a Christian Nation, then Christians are bound by the teaching of the first teacher to care for those who are unable to care for themselves.  In fact most of the Big 5 World Religions have some sort of requirement for such a "moral" duty.  

    If this be a practical and moral nation then it is usually found that all human life has some value even in the poorest of circumstances.  

    Please do not forget that ideally the federal government is the contract labor force that sees to the business of all citizens no matter their circumstances.  

    Should you become incapacitated and unable to contribute, shall we allow you fade away in poverty and misery?


  2. i think that people are lazy and if the government is giving them my money from my check i worked for then people recieving the check should have to take a drug test in order to get the money....i have to take one to earn the money they should have to do the same.
