  1. The problem is hugh unfortunitly there is no real way of knowing the true figures. as the vast numbers go unreported, and those that are are not always investigated properly, even those that are reported the children, close down to specialises as they are fearful, feel guilt and embarresment, they feel that they will not be believed anyway, they are made to feel this way, by the abuser as a way to protect himselves from punishment. most child abuses are related to the child such as step father or uncle, or close family friend. again reinforcing the idea of not being believed and / or discredited. in NSW DOCS is charged with protecting the children in that state, Human Services in VICTORIA do the same thing. abuse, comes in many forms, some adults will continuely put the child down and reinforceing the child is worthless and stupid this kind of abuse is common but never or rarely has any one been charged with child abuse in a court of law for this abuse, when we think of child abuse we think phyical, ie, hitting the child or sexual abuse these are commonly brought be the courts but verbal, emotional, is never really reported. Sorry I am starting to go on a bit, techer's doctors and child care workers are legally bound to report all abuse, the fact is they don't. everybody that works with children are to have police checks, this is protect the children, the fact is most child abusers have no criminal record on file. try web site napcan and docs, what we all can do to protect children is simple and that is "listen to our children" Good luck on the assignment.

  2. Well,,,, I see no questions to answer ,,,,  As for child abuse I"m aware that it's a sensitive subject especially some aspects of it ,,,, Regardless ,,,, IT SHOULD be talked about and discussed with children as well as adults ,,,, It's hard to protect children from this sort of thing if they know nothing about it in the first place ,,,, They have to know and understand what it is they should guard against ,,,, It's only through communication that this sort of thing can be successfully dealt with ,,,, I don't know if this helped or not but good luck on your assignment ,,,,  //
