"Large high rise public housing projects in our urban centers are reservations for maintaining homogeneous class and racial neighborhoods."

  1. I don't agree with it at all.. Because Urban, is a place in the city.. It has nothing to  do with race or class.  I 'm happy to hear that their is a rise in public housing, because there are plenty of people who need it, due to our economic problems... Now it would be a racist comment, if it were geared only toward the minorities... but it is not... If you need such help to get in a house, who the cares, if it is in the urban society... .. get on your feet, than move out..... However, because black people fall in this class, it would seem that racial homogeneous goals are the key....This doesn't look like a ploy to  make black people  stay in the ghetto, and maintain their blackness to me....

  3. Is it from There Are No Children Here......it refers to how poverty is used as a "trap" in the workings of the inner-city.  These high rise public housing units DO indeed maintain a homogeneous class and race division....but it is not meant to be a positive statement.
