  1. When I worked at target (2004), the rules were these:

    -If someone reaches into the cash drawer, you're allowed to close it, hard.

    -If someone has a weapon, let them go.

    -If you see a shoplifter, report it immediately to Assets protection (the security officer up front) or the floor manager.

    -If attacked, flee.  Unless you are on the assets protection team, then you can try to put them into a bear hug until the cops arrive.
