I was a promised a certain APR rate on purchases for a specific period of time. When the time came for that lower APR to begin, my statement still showed the former higher APR.

When I inquired, I was told that the information I had been given was wrong, even though I received it from company reps and made purchases based on the information I received. I have never made late payments. I have never missed a payment. I have never had an access check returned. I have never been overlimit.

The reason I was given for the lower rate not being put into effect was because the reps I had spoken with (there was more than one and I have all of their names and badge numbers and the dates I spoke with them) just gave me bad information, and the credit card company won't back up the statements made by their employees.

  1. It would be the Federal Trade Commission but without written proof of the offer you don't have a leg to stand on.

  2. Better Business Bureau is where you file complaints. However, unless you are a big fish, no one will take you seriously.

  3. Unless you have written proof of the offer, your complaint will go nowhere.
