Question:

To who watched it: What do YOU think about the AC Milan game today?

Just came back from San Siro from watching AC Milan - Bologna, which ended 1-2.

I can already see people who watched it coming up with clueless ideas. Let me put in perspective what I saw from the game:

Abbiati: Needs more work. Not really at fault on the second goal, a great shot in the second half.

Defense: Good Zambrotta, very good in fact. Static the centre backs on the first goal but considering Maldini is 40 I was actually impressed.

Midfield:

Flamini is one of the best buys of the season. He was everywhere, ran like a maniac, winning balls a là Gattuso but then has good feet so great passing and work rate. Ancelotti stupidly puts him as right back in the second half but performs well nevertheless, however his midfield work now not being done.

Ambrosini: Scored the goal and won balls. No complaints.

Ronaldinho: A little static in the first half he played brilliant in the second and was dangerous. His the assist for the first goal and he was a thorn on the opposite team all game. Once he started trying to dribble the player you could see the class he still had. A tad bit too slow but for a first season game he passes in my opinion.

Seedorf: Clueless and oneof the reasons,. as well as tactical, as to why we lost. Slow in the counter attack. Slow in passing, dsnt come back to win balls, etc. A weight in the midfield.

Pirlo: Ok on the long passes and opening up for the wings, but not incisive enough on thru balls or long balls for the strikers.

Attack:

Pippo wasted a few chances. Sheva's first game in 6 months a mild sufficient but he is not what he once was, at least in this game. Pato came in too late to be incisive and made too many mistakes.

Ancelotti: Why on earth he kept Seedorf on the whole game and instead took Jankulovski off for Sheva, thus putting Flamini in defense, then put Emerson (!!!!) for Ambrosini is beyond me. Wrong tactics.

Gattuso was injured and so was Kakà.

Milan cannot play with Seedorf and Pirlo in the same team, we lose incisiveness in the midfield and Seedorf performs either c**p or very good, no in betweens, but at a ratio of 5 c**p games for one good one. It's just not goodenough. With Gattuso coming back Flamini CANNOT be put on the bench after today's performance and Seedorf should instead.

Ref: I won't go on. If you saw the match, you know what I saw and it sucked but it is NOT the reason for the loss.

Other: The strikers have all been training together with the team for the first time this past week. More work is needed to get the tactics, motions, passing, etc worked out.

First game of the season, at home, was a loss. I was there and could whinge and cry and complain about it but am not going to, no reason to to be honest. I ask for your opinion adding a final note: I just hope Milan fans weren't watching waiting to be proven right on their critics of the transfer markets and if they were realize this: It was not the new players that were bad except maybe Sheva. Seedorf, Pirlo, Inzaghi n Pato were the weak links together with Carletto's tactics and substitutions, and a lil ref help which needs to ALWAYS be accounted for and cannot be an excuse.

Over to you.

Forza Milan, non ti lasceremo mai.

  1. It just goes to show how valuable Kaka is too this team. We need him back. I'm surprised you praised Kaladze and Maldini. They didn't do well at all. I'm not trying to disrespect Maldini (He is a living legend), but him and Kaladze were too slow to react many times. Zambrotta was very good. As was Flamini. Dinho did well i think especially in his first game for Milan. And your right about Ancelotti's tactic's. Why he took Jankulovski off and put Flamini in the backline is beyond me. Lets just hope that this season isn't going to be like last year (especially at home). Milan will bounce back, as always.

  2. Shocker!

  3. i just think we need to give them time, they did well, nevertheless for example sheva and ronaldinho haven't trained more than once in their lives, they need time to adapt and learn how to play together.

  4. LOL I must say as much as I hate Milan I kind of had higher expectations.

I expected more from Sheva. Dinho was excellent just as expected. Pirlo is my biggest disappointment. Seedorf acted like they threw him in the game just after landing on Earth from Mars. I got the feeling Pirlo and him had no idea what was happening. I'm not saying they are useless just lost.

The point of what I'm saying is they didn't function well as a team. Maybe that can be justified since there are many new signings this season and they will need a little time to get in the game and learn to play all together. Positively surprised by the strikers, but it was expected.

    Ancelotti...No comment.

  5. Yea... Abbiati improved he made more mistake in Atléti [The Idiot, lol jk]

I saw the first half, fairly decent game not gonna lie. AC Milan attacked a lot more, Inzaghi missed some goal opportunities, Dinho was decent. Bologna showed determination.

  6. Agreed on Flamini and Zambrotta. Ronaldinho did his job today. All he's lacking is speed but he made a nice chip pass to Ambrosini for the goal and gave Inzaghi and Seedorf perfect scoring opportunities. Ancelotti is doing the same things and expecting different results. 4-3-2-1? This Christmas tree formation will not work in Serie A anymore. Milan will be burned on the wings. There needs to be at least 2 strikers. One striker puts more pressure on the midfield. Last year we didn't have the players. This season we do. Ambrosini is defensive midfielder. He shouldn't have to be up there. That much space shouldn't have been allowed for the second goal. I believe that was Ambrosini's man. Pirlo was lost today. Played better in the second half. Seedorf isn't happy on the right and in the first half drifted on the left and Ronaldinho and Clarence got in each others way. Seedorf took too long to pass.  You're right. Jankulovski shouldn't have come off for Sheva. Kudos to Paolo Maldini but let's keep in mind it's Bologna. The keeper made a nice save on Shevchenko so give him credit. Sheva didn't receive the best balls either but was usually in position. He also lacks speed now. It's a downhill slope for Ronaldinho and Shevchenko from here. Prime is past but they can still be good.  Ronaldinho is the type of player who's best when you give him freedom and let him do what he wants. Much like Kaka.

  7. Agreed with whatever you said and the formation thing Coure said.

I enjoyed the game, but wished the result was a better one!

@ Tamara - Ronaldinho is a new player, but he gave passes like he has been playing with the team for years. All we needed in the game was a finisher, it just wasn't Inzaghi's day.

  8. well said....do you have a second favorite club.................

  9. Milan needs a world class goalkeeper and a couple central defenders, and an actual striker that is not some has-been like Shevchenko or a grandpa like Inzaghi.

That has been their problem for the past three years now.  They keep signing players they don't need, like a bunch of midfielders, but they already have a terrific midfield.

Wait.....why the f*ck am I giving advice on how to better the team to my rival?? LOL scratch that.

  10. I see the main reason for the loss was Carletto's tactic ..

why he take janku out and putt sheva in .. he should take out seedorf ..

    =====

the new players were very good .. the problem with the old players ..

flamini and zambo and roni and even abbiate were amazing ..

and dont forget the capitano that was great considering that he 40 years old .. !!!

the problem is with anchi and his tactic to play with the tree .. that every team in the world has kno how to stop it ..

in the next game when kaka and gattuso come back he shoul never play with seedorf as a starter ..

  11. Well said. I just think its a case of too many "me's" on the team and not enough team. I loved the way they moved 'dino around though. When they get a few more matches in, they will be quite a formidable club, shame they cant play in CL though

  12. I have only one word after this surprise loss it 's Ancelotti's stupid tatics

  13. I think you called it right.

Milan are going to be in big trouble until they get KaKA back he is the creator in the midfield an also like to see more Flamini he seemed to move the ball well just didn't give him the ball enough. I'm confident that Milan will work everything out an then win Siera A
