To whoever has studied abroad.....?

What was it like? What was your reason for doing it? Was it fun?

Did you do it to get away? Did you go during the summer or during the school year? Can you go when you're a sophmore in high school?

home away is both fun and miserable.  despite the fights / arguments at home, its home. do what u like, fight when u like.  away means different mindset.  different responsibilities.  cant get to a fridge to get food. cafeteria has fixed hours.  $$$ is scarce esp if parents r not rich.  u're an adult.  u gotta do your own laundry or wear not-so-clean clothes. do your own shopping. your own studies.

new friends, new environment, new fun, new ideas, new teachers. everything made new! your own time.  

dont neglect studies.  that's the prime!  nothing else. lots of distractions of opposite s*x, same s*x etc.  so hold your own fort!

u can go anytime after getting that high-school paper thingy. apply, get a place, say goodbye parents, siblings  and move and act smart - dont show your weakness by crying etc.

perhaps abt 200miles fr home wld be ideal.
