Tobias Kamke topples over Maxime Authom in the quarter-finals – Loughborough Challenger 2012 CH
Top seeded, Tobias Kamke, prevail over his Belgium native, Maxime Authom, in the quarter-finals of the AEGON GB Pro-Series Loughborough Challenger 2012 on the eve of Friday. The contenders manifested a mouth-watering match penning
down his 7-6(5), 6-2 in one hour and 44 minutes at the indoor hard courts Acrylic, England.
The 26-year-old German commenced the match with a great might and held his initial serve. He notched up the first game and stayed on the track. In response to this, Authom, responded in the fourth game and evened out the score
line to 2-all. Both the players battled hard to sustain their lead and continuously squared the score line after every other game. This trend continued until the end and he jumped forward and ended the opener with a tie-break round. They confidently fired
cracking winners but eventually Kamke stole the show with a 7-6(5) score.
Ranked 83rd in the ATP World Tour Rankings, Kamke, had 61 percent initial serve precision with 22 of 31 first serve and 13 of 20 second delivery points. Both of the competitors were unable to pocket away even a single
break point from the five. The 25-year-old Belgium double faulted thrice at the critical points in the match with 55 percent initial serve. He secured 25 of 33 first and 13 of 27 second delivery points.
In the second set, fifth seeded Authom completely lost his thrust to rally forward. The right-hander German contestant secured the initial two games and marked a 2-love lead by the end of the second game. Kamke stormed but held
his momentum in order to sweep away all his serves with poise and determination. He bagged home his critical break in the seventh game and cashing on the win with a 6-2 victory.
The 25-year-old Belgian professional had an average initial serve precision of 58 percent. He converted nine of 14 first and four of 10 second serve points. The German senior fired three aces and attained 64 percent first serve
accuracy. Fortunately, he secured the break by attaining 12 of 16 first and six of nine second serve points. He exhibited his superior experience by snatching two of three serve breaks.
