The Ajax Amsterdam attacker faced Jose Mourinho’s side for the first time in a UEFA Champions League game on Wednesday, and was all praise for La Liga champions’ dominant display on the pitch.
Ajax Amsterdam suffered a demoralising 4-1 defeat at the hands of Real Madrid in a UEFA Champions League game at Amsterdam Arena on Wednesday, October 3.
Tobias Sana, the Amsterdammers young attacker, had nothing but praise for Los Blancos after the match, and revealed that he has not faced a better side than Los Blancos thus far in his career.
“Everything is going so quick when you play against Real Madrid. They are by far the best team I have ever faced. They have someone like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629, who is simply amazing. There's not much you can do against him”, Sana was quoted as saying in an exclusive
interview to goal.com.
The 23-year-old, who arrived at Amsterdam Arena earlier this summer from IFK Goteborg, went on to admit that the Madrid giants’ game level is far superior, and heaped praise on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Xabi-Alonso-c37045 and Karim Benzema’s performance.
“Their first touches, the way they pass, it's all close to perfection. Xabi Alonso passes the ball over 70 yards wherever he wants to. [Karim] Benzema's goal was another example of how good they are”, Sana added.
Real Madrid dominated proceedings right from the kick-off in Amsterdam, but they failed to break the deadlock until the 42nd minute, when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ronaldo-c31734 hit the back of the net with a simple tap in.
Three minutes after the half-time break, Benzema doubled Los Blancos’ advantage with a brilliant bicycle kick. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Niklas-Moisander-c27919 pulled one back in the 56th minute, but Ronaldo struck twice in the remaining action of the game to seal a comfortable
4-1 win for La Liga champions.
Sana took full responsibility of Los Merengues’ opening goal, and revealed that the coach, Frank de Boer, warned everyone before the start of the match not to lose possession.
“I take full responsibility for the first goal. The coach had already warned us against it, yet it still happened to me”, Sana concluded.
