The Graham Motion trained, Toby’s Corner, seems to be leading the line-up at this point.
The four-year-old looks like he has it all, and is possibly the best runner on the track. He has been in good form and that will benefit him a great deal in this race.
The son of Bellamy Road claimed an immense victory in the Mountainview Handicap on 28th July, 2012, where he was ridden by jockey, Jeremy Rose, and finished nearly 4 lengths ahead of Isn't He Perfect, and completed the 1 1/8
mile distance in 1 minute and 49.15 seconds.
Over the course of his career, the Florida bred runner has collected earnings worth $898,240 and has an overall record of 5-0-4 in 11 eleven starts.
The chestnut colt earned his first Grade 1 victory in April, 2011, at Aqueduct when he claimed the Resorts World New York Casino Wood Memorial Stakes. After that, he finished third in the Grade 2 General George Handicap and the Grade 2 New Orleans
Handicap.
Toby’s Corner will enter the race from post 6, and he will be mounted by Edgar S. Prado for the first time with weights of 120 pounds.
Toby’s Corner will aim to win, but things will not be easy for him, thanks to San Pablo who will do everything he can to make sure that Toby’s Corner doesn’t win. Also entering with 120 pounds, the colt will ride in the capable hands of jockey, Christopher
P. DeCarlo.
Trained by Todd Pletcher, the runner holds a record of 6-3-1 in 11 starts and seems to be getting better with every race.
On 2nd August, 2012, San Pablo claimed a victory in the Birdstone Stakes at Saratoga, which covered a distance of 1 1/8 miles.
Prior to that, he ran in the Grade 2 Monmouth Cup Stakes at Monmouth Park, where he finished in fourth, which shows that he has the familiarity with the track.
